What media registration does

Registering project media adds references to the original file locations and metadata to the catalog. Registration alone does not create file copies or perform checksum verification.

If you need copies and verification, check the Clone Sync job results first. You can link an organized shoot folder to a project while leaving the originals where they are.

Register files and folders

Check the destination project, then choose files or folders using the add-media action. Grant the folder access the app needs and check the registration progress.

  • Check the selected project name
  • Choose the files or folders to register
  • Wait for file discovery and metadata processing to finish
  • Open media from the list to confirm access to the original

If media cannot be found

Check that the drive containing the originals is connected and that the files or parent folders have not moved. If a location changed, use the app’s relink feature to specify the actual path.

Removing a reference from a project and deleting the original file from disk are different actions. Read the description of the action before proceeding.
