Understand verification modes
Distinguish Clone Sync’s three verification modes from the scope of QuickCheck.
This is sample content. The product version and actual workflow will be reviewed before publication.
Fast Verify
This mode uses verification information calculated during transfer. It does not reread the entire destination. Record the actual mode when handing over results, so it is not presented as a Full Read-back Verify.
Source Re-read
This mode rereads the source for comparison. Consider it when you want an additional check of source-read consistency. Its scope differs from Full Read-back Verify, which rereads the entire destination.
Full Read-back Verify
This mode rereads the files written to each destination and compares them with the source checksum calculated during transfer. It does not include an additional source reread. The time for destination rereading varies with file size, devices, and connections.
Keep the selected verification mode, algorithm, and per-destination results together so others can understand what was checked during handoff or troubleshooting.
How QuickCheck differs
QuickCheck performs a read-only comparison of folder structure, filenames, sizes, and similar metadata. It does not read file contents to calculate checksums.
Matching structure does not establish that file contents match. For content verification, check evidence from the relevant job, such as a Clone Sync verification record. QuickCheck also does not copy, delete, or synchronize files.
