Choose the source and destinations

Select the source card or folder and the destinations for its copies. Check each full destination path and available space, and make sure a source and destination do not point to the same location.

Before using a destination with existing files, check the duplicate-file policy. For choices such as overwriting that affect existing data, confirm the contents and paths first.

Check verification and report settings

Verification modes differ in what they read again. Choose according to the available time and your job requirements, and check which mode is recorded in the results.

If you need a report, select the available output options. Defaults may vary between app versions, so read the current settings before starting.

Monitor the running job

Check the copying and verification stages in the job list. After requesting Pause, wait for the safe-stop process to finish. The source card remains locked against access and ejection while paused. Before disconnecting a device, confirm that the required work has completed or cancellation has finished, then check that the app allows ejection and eject safely.

When resuming after an interruption, confirm the same source and destinations and follow the app’s status checks. A previous attempt does not mean every file has completed.

Check each destination’s results

For each destination, check copy and verification results, failed or excluded items, and generated reports. Open the completed report and confirm the project and storage paths.

Decide whether to reuse a card after confirming the required copies and verification results against your on-set retention rules. Matching checksums do not guarantee against future hardware failure or playback support for every codec.
